Domenico Cosenza – A Clinic of Excess: Contemporary Symptoms and the Analytical Orientation towards the Real.

This half day seminar comprises a key note address by Dominico Cosenza followed by a panel discussion of clinical cases. The seminar will examine the issue of ‘excess’ in its various manifestations – including that of food, alcohol, drugs for example. It will reflect on our consumer society where the demand is to buy, buy, buy and consume, consume, consume – all with the promise of a utopian level of enjoyment.

Domenico Cosenza, psychologist, psychoanalyst and author a specialist in eating disorders.

Domenico holds a PhD in Psychoanalysis from the University of Paris 8. He is a psychoanalyst in private practice in Milan, Italy. He has long experience working in clinical institutions for Eating Disorders in Italy, and was member of the board of the FIDA (Federazione Italiana Disturbi Alimentari, [Italian Federation of Eating Disorders]. He is President of Kliné, Milanese center of FIDA.

He is an Analyst Member (AME) and past President of the Lacanian School of Psychoanalysis (SLP) (2013-2016) and a member of the World Association of Psychoanalysis (WAP). He was nominated AE (Analyste de l’Ecole) in May 2017.

In the 4st Congress of PIPOL in Bruxelles, July 2017, he was elected President of the Euro Federation of Psychoanalysis (EFP).

He teaches at the Clinical Section of Milan and is frequently invited to teach in other clinical sections in Spain, France and Italy. He also teaches in the Department of Psychology at Pavia University.
