This issue is brimming with articles with each in their own way circulating around the crucial theme of the ethics of psychoanalysis. Lacan’s specification of psychoanalytic ethics was important enough for him to devote an entire seminar to it (1959-60) and this issue has contributors engaging with this theme as a vital factor in contemporary psychoanalytic clinical practice and in the malaises of culture, as well as ethical dimensions emergent in the field of visual art, in theatre and film, in working with a “foreign” tongue, and in ideology.
